In June and September 2017 the Trust launched two new friendship groups for the over 60’s. The first was at Clifton, meeting on Wednesday’s at the Hope Centre on Southchurch Drive and the second at Arnold on Monday at the Eagles Nest Community Centre, Gedling Road.

The club provides members with a day of friendship, fun, food and opportunities to do new things. Morning activities are many and varied from quizzes, members sharing their stories, visiting speakers, or competitions such as our recent cupcake decorating, judged by our very own “Mary Berry.” Twice a month there is the opportunity to participate in armchair exercises before lunch.

One of the highlights of the day is a two-course lunch, prepared by the wonderful Claire, followed by further activities. There have also been a trip on a River Cruise, a Mystery tour of Derbyshire, a Christmas shopping trip, a visit to the Nottingham Playhouse to see the Pantomime Cinderella and a Christmas party.

As one of our members put it,

“I can never remember the name of this club,
but I call it the Happy Club.”

Would you or anyone you know like to join us?
It costs £10 for the day* and the 1st week is free!

We are always delighted to welcome new members.
